Your recipes stay yours.
Recipe Keeper is provided by Marius Semenas. Privacy questions can be sent through the developer contact shown for Recipe Keeper in the App Store.
Recipe data on your device
The app stores recipes, notes, ratings, cooking history, reminders, imported sources, and media locally. There is no Recipe Keeper account, developer-operated recipe backend, cloud synchronization, advertising, tracking SDK, or automatic developer analytics upload. The developer does not receive your recipe library through ordinary app use.
Direct website requests
When you choose to import or open a public webpage, your device contacts the publisher directly. That publisher can receive normal connection information such as your IP address and the requested address. Its privacy practices apply. In-app import networking and the optional public-page viewer use temporary browsing state. The app does not import your Safari sign-in cookies. Opening a link in Safari uses Safari’s settings.
Apple services and permissions
Apple handles app distribution and purchases through the App Store. Recipe Keeper receives verified entitlement information but not your Apple Account password. Selected photos are provided through Apple’s system picker. Camera access is requested for scanning. Optional audio transcription is requested only for a selected local video and only with an on-device recognition path. Local notification permission is requested when you choose relevant reminders or timers. Apple may handle model-asset downloads and diagnostics according to its own policies and your settings.
Backups and sharing
The app does not automatically back up its library to a developer service or synchronize it between devices. App-owned recipe storage is excluded from automatic OS backup. You can explicitly export a .recipebox backup, recipe copy, or diagnostic report to a destination you choose. A selected Files provider or recipient may store the export under its own policies. Backups are not encrypted by Recipe Keeper. Original media may include metadata from the source, including photo location metadata. Protect exported files accordingly.
Diagnostics and support
The app can prepare a report for your review and export. It includes broad app and OS information and counts or status categories; it excludes recipe titles, ingredients, instructions, notes, media, URLs, and purchase identifiers. It is never sent automatically. Information you intentionally send for support is used only to investigate and respond to your request and is deleted when it is no longer needed for that purpose.
Removal and your control
You can edit recipes, remove originals, restore or permanently remove recipes in Recently Deleted, and use Erase All Local Data. Recently Deleted retains a recipe locally for 30 days unless you remove it sooner. Deleting the app or losing the device may permanently remove unexported recipes. The developer cannot recover a library that was never sent or backed up by you. Exported copies remain wherever you saved them. Your App Store purchase is managed by Apple separately from local recipe storage.
